The organizations receiving the latest Foundation grants January 27, 2010 are: 

· Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Beyond the Bell Branch -- $561,980 will bring the LA84 Foundation/Beyond the Bell Middle School Sports Program to all 87 LAUSD middle schools.

· LA’s BEST (Better Educated Students for Tomorrow) $300,000 -- will enable LA’s BEST to offer softball, basketball, flag football and track and field, serving 11,000 youngsters at 172 elementary schools.

· Kids In Sports -- $450,000 to fund activities at 14 sports clubs that provide sports programs for youth in underserved areas of LA County.

· Southern California Tennis Association -- $150,000 to provide tennis instruction and equipment to 8,500 youngsters at more than 100 sites throughout Southern California.

· The YMCA of Greater Long Beach -- $100,000 to assist in the renovation of their gymnasium and for sports equipment.

· Friends of EXPO Center -- $79,379 to provide learn-to-swim lessons during the school day to more than 4,000 youth from elementary, middle and high schools in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum area.

· After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles -- $75,023 will assist to enhance its sports program at three charter schools in Central Los Angeles, two in Bell Gardens and one in El Monte.

· The Junior Posse Youth Equestrian Program -- $70,000 for equipment and uniforms.

· Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito -- $50,000 to increase from 8 to 13, the number of middle schools in North San Diego County at which it provides after-school sports programs.

Organizations receiving assistance to enhance existing youth sports programs include:

Boys and Girls Clubs of San Fernando Valley -- $23,000

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. -- $21,000

YMCA of Anaheim -- $20,000.
