Middle School Sports Program

The middle school years - ages 11-14 - represent a void in youth sports programming in Southern California. While many after school programs offer sports to elementary school children and high schools have a wide range of interscholastic sports, few options are available to middle school students. This is the age at which youngsters are most likely to drop out of sports participation.

To fill the void the LA84 Foundation has launched a Middle School Sports initiative. The Foundation, in partnership with the Los Angeles United School District's Beyond the Bell division, funds sport programs at all 95 LAUSD middle schools. The program includes basketball, soccer, flag football and softball.
