The photographer Paul Martens created the sport poster series for the XIII Pan American Games. The series of six posters combines photographic images of Canadian athletes juxtaposed against images of landmarks of Winnipeg and Manitoba. In the first image shown here depicts  swimmer Shaloon Herring stroking her way over a southern Manitoba grain field. The second image portrays athlete Dave Stackiw  throwing a discus from the top of the Manitoba Legislative Building. The third shows an image of Wanda Guenette spiking a volleyball over the lock and dam at St. Andrews.
